GQ Magazine And Ben Sherman Host ‘On The Verge,’ Photos By David Yellen At Bloom

New York, June 1, 2004 - GQ magazine and Ben Sherman will host an exclusive, one-night-only, original photography exhibit by David Yellen at Bloomingdale’s newest location in Soho on Thursday, June 3. The exhibit, On the Verge, showcases an eclectic mix of individuals on the verge of a major breakthrough in their chosen art form. Subjects include Survivor: Africa champ Ethan Zohn, DJ Princess Superstar of MTV’s Made, actor Daniel Franzese, TV on the Radio, and the Raveonettes.
The exhibit kicks off on Thursday with a invitation-only reception hosted by GQ and Ben Sherman, featuring DJs Justine D and Tommie Sunshine, English-inspired hors d’ oeuvres and Patrón tequila cocktails.
David Yellen, a New York City native, infuses his photographs with the energy and passion of his hometown. The strikingly elegant and often humorous portraits have graced hundreds of magazine pages worldwide including Time, Rolling Stone, ESPN, Interview, and The New York Times magazine. Yellen’s subjects have ranged from celebrities and Broadway actors to musicians and athletes. A book of Yellen’s photography and coinciding gallery show entitled Too Fast For Love, focusing on rock concert groupies, will be published in September 2004.
