Former player, Survivor champ Zohn to host Metro Soccer Report

MSG Networks today announced a new host for its popular soccer preview show, The Metro Soccer Report. Ethan Zohn, winner of Survivor Africa and former professional soccer player, will host the half-hour show that will air throughout the 2005 MLS season every Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. on MSG Network.
The Metro Soccer Report is a weekly preview show designed to inform soccer fans of all the latest news on the MetroStars and other regional soccer teams. With the growth in soccer’s popularity, MSR will be the source for updates, results, player profiles and everything else involving soccer in the Tri-state region.
Zohn will lend his expertise and knowledge as both a player and a coach, having been a goalie for the Highlanders Football Club (Zimbabwe), Cape Cod Crusaders and the Hawaii Tsunami and an assistant coach for the Fairleigh Dickinson University Men’s and Women’s Soccer Team.
The premiere episode will be April 7 at 10:30 p.m.
Zohn gained national recognition when he won the popular CBS reality show, Survivor: Africa in 2002. Since then, he has co-founded “Grassroot Soccer,” a non-profit organization that assists Africa’s professional soccer players in teaching children about HIV/AIDS prevention. He also serves as the national spokesperson for America Scores, an organization dedicated to helping inner city kids participate in educational soccer programs. Zohn is a graduate of Vassar College and originally from Lexington, Mass.
