Coffin Lids & Drive-In Horrorshow to Premiere Music Video
The music video for “Creepy Crawl” by The Coffin Lids will premiere at The Abbey Lounge in Cambridge, MA on August 8. “Creepy Crawl” is a 60s go-go garage song with a horror twist. The music video was produced in collaboration with Drive-In Horrorshow, an independent, Boston-based horror film.
Drive-In Horrorshow is an anthology of short horror films in the tradition of Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow. The film is being made by Greg Ansin and Michael Neel, two Boston-based filmmakers who have worked on a variety of documentaries, music videos, and other film and video projects. Drive-In Horrorshow is being shot on 16mm film, and should be completed by January 1, 2009.
The music video was shot on 16mm film at The Abbey Lounge on Memorial Day weekend, and features many fans of The Coffin Lids and a music-loving zombie from Drive-In Horrorshow.
The makeup and special FX are done by local makeup talents Rob Fitz, Nick Flanagan, and Jeff O’Brien, who created fantastic monsters and gore for God of Vampires. Rob Fitz is currently working on many of the Hollywood films in the Boston area, such as The Surrogates and Mall Cop.
Other bands performing on the 8th include: Chocolate, featuring members of Demons Claws and Los Sexareenos, and Bill, a rock star with Down’s Syndrome.
The Coffin Lids are a Boston-based garage slop rock band, led by frontman/damaged guitar player Skinny Mike. They have numerous albums available on Bomp! Records.
