A Journal from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe
Keep up with the Grassroot Soccer organization via their Bulawayo Journal.
Here’s an excerpt from the first entry:
“All the statistics that one reads about AIDS in Africa do not do justice to the reality of the situation. Hospitals are overcrowded, there is no space left at virtually all the cemeteries in Bulawayo, and yet there remains a reluctance to speak about the problems. In addition to the AIDS crisis there is a major shortage of basic food supplies and skyrocketing inflation. The people of Zimbabwe need our support more than ever. It feels good to be doing our part to help, yet we realize that so much more needs to be done.”
